CIS constitutes Committee on Dress Code

The Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, (CIS), University of Ilorin, has constituted a committee on dress code to look into the modalities for the enforcement of dress code of the institution on its students and staff members.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Rasheed Jimoh, disclosed this last Wednesday (December 19, 2018) in a statement made available to Unilorin Bulletin.
Dr. Jimoh explained that the Faculty will rely on the contributions and commitment of the members of the Committee towards ensuring total compliance with the University's norm as regards the manner of dressing by the staff and students of the Faculty, to eradicate indecent dressing on campus.
Members of the committee include Dr. R. A. Olawoyin of the Department of Telecommunications Sciences, Chairman; and Mr. Mustafa M. Abubakar of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs, Secretary.
Other members are Dr. R. M. Adisa of the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. S. A. Olarongbe of the Department of Library and Information Sciences, Mrs. S, A. Salihu of the Department of Computer Science, and Mr. S. A. Abdulkareem of the Department of Telecommunications Sciences.
The committee held its inaugural meeting last Monday (December 17, 2018), where members expressed their readiness to support the Faculty in achieving the desired goal of enforcing the university dress code.
At the meeting, various strategies were mapped out on how to bring about success of the assignment. The committee, however, charged all staff and students to always abide by the rules and regulations governing dressing on campus as sanctions will be applied on erring staff and students.
